Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, I view myself as a bridge between current and past research in my field and the inquisitive minds of my students. I believe that learning should be an active, collaborative process, where students are not just recipients of knowledge but active participants in their own education. To foster engagement and deepen understanding, I incorporate group activities, think-pair-share exercises, and opportunities for hands-on collaboration, all of which encourage critical thinking, retention, and a sense of community in the classroom.
I also emphasize the importance of real-world applications by integrating concrete examples, such as using Bacillus subtilis as a case study to illustrate transcriptional regulation. This helps students connect theoretical concepts with practical, everyday science.
Ultimately, my goal is to create a learning environment where students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to actively engage in their educational journey, building both knowledge and a strong sense of community along the way.
